Brood Mothers are young versions of the Zombie Queen responsible for laying all the Zombie Eggs found in the Airlock. They can be found burrowed among the eggs during Easy Company's Destroy the Zombie Eggs mission on Veteran mode where the collective Squad Rating is 1800 or above. They will always be present in Nightmare Mode. The Brood Mothers will remain burrowed, yet detectable, for a short duration of time once the mission is activated. They will emerge and attack as players attempt to kill the eggs.
Brood Mothers have large health pools, but low armor, making them vulnerable to most weapons. Brood Mothers have very high damage attacks that occur in pairs, one from each talon. They should be killed as quickly as possible, and from range. Nukes, OSOK, and Sonic Traps are excellent to disable or kill them.
A small swarm of Brood Mothers will attack after the Black Ops Battle during Eos's final wave. They can be fatal if players are not attentive.
Outside of Easy Company Brood Mothers are only seen on round 27 of Survival. Although, in extremely rare occurrences, Brood Mothers have been seen emerging from Spore Meteors
